The reason behind this vision was simple: after decades of work in the field, the founding Board members understood that the most successful efforts – the kind of efforts that save lives and transform society – are always the result of individuals and organizations working together. The National Center helps a myriad of professionals who work with victims and perpetrators: NCDSV provides customized training for criminal justice and helping professionals who intervene and consults with many organizations to prevent domestic and sexual violence. NCDSV advocates for improved laws and policies and is known for its leadership on the Violence Against Women Act,. NCDSV works with the Centers for Disease Control’s Division on Violence Prevention, and the military community.
