About the Cause:
Nearly 1 in 5 women and 1 in 71 men were raped in their lifetime (sexual assault).
Sexual assault can take many forms including child sexual abuse, rape, attempted rape, incest, exhibitionism, voyeurism, obscene phone calls, fondling, and sexual harassment. There is a range of nonconsensual sexual acts that create a continuum in which each form of sexual assault is linked to the others by their root causes, as well as by the effects they have on individuals and communities. While sexual assault takes various forms, it is important to remember that the loss of power and control that a victim of sexual assault experiences is a common thread.
At Bravelets we support those hurt by sexual assault and we salute their bravery.
About the Product:

About the charity:
The National Center on Domestic and Sexual Violence is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Austin, Texas. The National Center was founded in May 1998 with a vision to create an organization that encouraged and created unprecedented levels of collaboration among professionals working to end violence and sexual assault against women. The reason behind this vision was simple: after decades of work in the field, the founding Board members understood that the most successful efforts – the kind of efforts that save lives and transform society – are always the result of individuals and organizations working together. The National Center helps a myriad of professionals who work with victims and perpetrators: NCDSV provides customized training for criminal justice and helping professionals who intervene and consults with many organizations to prevent domestic and sexual violence. NCDSV advocates for improved laws and policies and is known for its leadership on the Violence Against Women Act,. NCDSV works with the Centers for Disease Control’s Division on Violence Prevention, and the military community.
